AMC Theatres Stubs
I had no idea Stubs was a way to watch an unlimited amount of movies with a subscription. I thought it was a card to get a discount on popcorn and candy.
I go to the movies with a group of coworkers that enjoy films as well. This summer there have been a lot of films. I’m usually sitting there with my bottled water or a Diet Coke and sometimes a popcorn. My comrades would always walk in as if they were stocking up a panic room. There would be a row of groceries in front of us during each film.
Everyone is different so I just thought people movie their own way. Fast forward to Deadpool this past week.
“What seat are you in?”
“I’ll get the tickets since you guys got lunch.” I reply.
“No, I’ll get it on the app so we don’t have to pay.”
“What?”
“Yeah, Stubs.”
“What does the candy card have to do with tickets?”
She puts her phone down, “You’re not a stubs member?”
“Evelyn, only teenagers behind a cash register are allowed to ask me that. The answer is no.”
“No, if you join and pay a monthly membership you can watch unlimited films.”
Was I happy with this bit of information and did I thank her? This is me.
“You’ve known this and have watched me pay full price for movies all year with half of them being IMAX?”
“You go to so many movies, I just thought you were a member already.”
Junior Mints were thrown at them during Deadpool for their incompetence.
This is to say that I am now rightfully a stubs member and will watch even the films I deemed home viewing since I was ridiculously paying full price while my friends watched me get fleeced.
